Planning a trip with some friends for 3-4 weeks, would love any input about places to visit in and around this itinerary.

Also, any thoughts on whether Eurail is a good/bad idea for a trip like this? I'm on the fence, but considering a 10 days in 2 months kind of pass to cover the longer trips.

Start Berlin
Prague
Vienna
Budapest
Croatia (Zagreb, and then down the coast)
Montenegro
Greece

At this point am flexible, just trying to create a general structure for the trip.
Love any "must sees" along the way, or advice about hostels/train travel in these areas.

Looks decent indeed. I would definitely NOT opt for the Eurail,honestly the most expensive train ticket between those cities will not be much more than 50 Dollars.

There are also tons of buses if you want to cut costs, plus they tend to have great service with free coffee, movies, etc. Check out http://cheapbus.wikispaces.com/Europe for the cheapest ones, but there are also tons of others lines for example in Croatia on the coast. Ferries can also be cheap.

Croatia airlines are cheap (30 Euro) domestically if you book in advance.

In my opinion you should throw in Sarajevo. But I'm strange like that.
