Does anybody know if it would be possible to do a day trip from Amsterdam to Copenhagen? I'm not sure where to even go to find out ferry information (if there is even a ferry!)

Thanks!
Leelah

I don't know this for sure, but just by looking at a map, I think I can say with all confidence that a day trip from Amsterdam to Copenhagen is impossible, unless you find a rocket ferry and your day lasts for about 58 hours.

Besides, Copenhagen is so cool... I lingered there for three non-work days and effectively filled most of that time.

If you're looking for a decent day trip from Amsterdam consider Utrecht. It's only about 45 minutes by train and it's a wonderful city for strolling. Or one of those tiny islands to the north (not Texel, too built up). Viking

Rocket ferry! hilarious! My travelling companion asked me to ask the question and I hadn't checked a map....Thanks for trips based on a 24 hour day!

I took a night train from Amsterdam to Copenhagen. We left Amsterdam at 7pm and got to Copenhagen around 10 or 11 the next morning! I slept for 10 consecutive hours, which I desperately needed after being in Amsterdam. (I swear, I didn't even smoke and I had a contact high the entire time I was there!)

How much does the Copenhagen-Amsterdam train cost? Does it really take 15 hours? Is there a cheap airline that flies it?

I imagine the train could cost more trhan just a few Euro.
Sterling Airlines, www.sterling.dk does it for as little as 17 Euro plus taxes from a nominal date checked.
However I think the ferry even with sails run up may have made it back by now.
