Hello. I am interested in spending about 2 weeks bumming around Bulgaria or Romania and am very interested in staying on farms. Does anyone have info on how to go about doing this or any resources they can recommend? thanks

ruraltourism.ro is a good place to start in Romania. We stayed at two places through the website (in Cisnadioara, near Sibiu and Chiscau, and enjoyed the experience. Both were interesting. In Cisnadioara they were really helpful hosts and they cooked amazing meals. Plus there was really a few animals around to watch, which was fun. Chiscau was a little less farm-like - more just a small town house - but I'll never forget the cow parade. The deal there seemed to be that every house owns a cow or three, and one person takes them out to pasture every morning, and then marches them home at night. Really neat to watch as every cow just peels off the herd into their own house without any prompting.

I don't know abt the agro-tourism in Bulgaria but Romania has some GREAT locations where you can stay in enjoy the nature (including organic produce grown by the locals)

While you can easily find something if you research "agro tourism in Romania", i'd suggest to try to find something not so much "publicized". You are better off if you stay wt the locals and not in one of the most popular villas in the area.
