Any decent hostels in Malta>
For once, this isn't for my RTW, I'm just going diving for a few days and want somewhere fairly sociable.

I'm not sure. If you want social, don't stay where I did. We were there for 4 nights, and didn't see a single other guest. Aside from being eerily quiet, it was a nice place, with a good breakfast, but not what you're looking for.

In general I'd avoid Sliema, as it's got enough of a tourist industry to suffer from touts...we didn't really encounter that elsewhere in the country.
