Hey folks,

2 things:

One:

I am plannin to go from london to stockholm and back in the week of 15 th jan 2007 for about 4-5 days. I know there are many options ranging from air, ferry, train etc etc... but it will be great if an expert or for that matter an experienced person can give me his/her advice/suggestions as to what is the best and the cheapest way to get around it...

Two:

If someone is plannin for a similar trip at around the same time, I would be more than happy to join the person/group or have that person/group join me...I m 25 single male. I will be comin from US to london a week before.

Looking forward to your replies...

peace out

I have flown from London to Stockholm, and given your amount of time, it is probably your best option. I took British Air (this was before RyanAir, EasyJet), but you can check out cheaper options. Overland would take you a day at least; I think flying was about 2 hours.

Have a great time; Stockholm is one of my most favorite cities!

I flew from London to Stockholm on Ryanair, super packed flight, but was pretty cheap. You have to take a bus from where you land to the city, which is about 1 - 1.5hrs, but its a pretty drive and they make it all very simple to figure out.

I booked my flight with Ryanair to Stockholm Skavsta and it was like 30£, check out their website.
from there you catch a bus (they will tell you where to go at the airport) , I think it's like 150 swedish kronas, one hour later you're in Stockolm's Central Station.
Stockholm is awesome.

I have found that unless you get a really cheap ticket with Ryan Air, the price really is not worth it. By the time you take in the cost of going to the airports out of town, then it costs more then most tickets on SAS or BA (if you get a good ticket).

Usually I pay under 1,000:- for a return ticket on BA or SAS.

Though I live outsite of Stockholm, 15 minutes from the main airport and about 2 hrs from Ryan Air airports, so I am a little biased.
