I am going on a week-long trip to Switzerland. I'm traveling between Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux, Interlaken, Lucerne, Zurich, and Liechtenstein.

The Swiss Pass will get me unlimited rail travel for 8 days for £198. My question is, does anyone know the standard 2nd class fair between these cities if I were just to buy a rail ticket at the station between each one? Would it be cheaper or more expensive?

Thanks!

The Swiss Pass is totally worth it. Point-to-point tickets are expensive. Besides, with the Swiss Pass, your local public transportation in all major cities, including the ones you mention, are also included; even the boats on lakes that are within Switzerland (Lake Lucerne, Lake Zurich, and the lakes on either side of Interlaken) are included! And with the Swiss Pass you get discounts on the private railroads and gondolas to mountain tops.

Okay, I'm gonna pick it up. Does anyone know if I can get the 8 Day Adult Swiss Pass for cheaper than £198? Is there a discount code somewhere or do they have a student discount?

They used to have a reduced Swiss Pass for adults between the ages of 16 - 26. How do you arrive in Switzerland? Are you flying into Geneva? You CAN buy your Swiss Pass at the Railway counter at the airport. You need your foreign passport and your flight ticket. The other main city railway stations will sell it to you, too. I can't remember if you need a photo - I don't think so, but if you did, there are those photo booths at just about every corner.

Hey Africaholic,

Are you 100% sure you can buy the Swiss pass at the Geneva airport? If so, I will just wait till I get there and pick it up then. Thanks.

YES

I've seen your other post "Buy a Swiss pass at Geneva airport or online?" first, and answered your question there.
