I fly into Madrid in a few days en route to Paris. I arrive at 7:35 in the morning, but my flight to Paris doesn't go out until 3:30. Assuming the baggage situation works out, do you guys think this allows for enough time to get out of the airport and see the city center for a few hours? I would hate to spend all that time in the airport considering I've never been to Spain!

If I'm not mistaken, theres a train or bus that goes from the station to Madrid, and its about 45 minutes. You might have time to flop around for 3 hours before returning, if you like rushing about. Check the exact times. My spain book went missing.

The metro line is connected to the airport.
From what I remember it was about a half hour ride, maybe more, into the city center, you'll probably have to switch metro lines a couple times. I'd say go for it if your flight arrives on time. You'll only get 2-3hrs max but thats enough for brunch and some sights Make sure you take the metro back to the right terminal though. |
