Having lots of trouble finding an inexpensive way to get from Heidelberg to Rothenburg. Any suggestions? I only have one day - Friday August 15th. I'm overnight in Heidelberg on thursday night and then need to meet up with friends around 6:00 on Friday in
Rothenburg. Internet is just full of coaches and tours but can't find simple bus transport from Hberg to Rburg.

How cheap? There are reduced train fares available. The second and third ones here for 29 euro. According to this there's a bus from Frankfurt that stops in Rothenburg, but you'd have to be in Frankfurt by 8 a.m. and I doubt if you'd save any money over the 29e train fare.

Edit: You'll have to select Rothenburg o.d. Tauber from the drop down list and the trains leaving Heidelberg at 11:24 and 11:28 have the 29 euro fares available as of 16:00(Germany), 31 July.
