Hi all, what time does the metro close in Paris? Are there taxis all night, or shuttles from the airport - CDG?

The metro hours are 0530 to 0030, unless they've changed recently. Taxi service is your best option after the metro closes for the evening. I don't know about airport shuttles, sorry!

The metro hours are until 1am on the weekdays and 2:15am on Saturdays (errr Sunday morning). Of course if you must transfer make sure you can arrive to that station before the closing time. At CDG they have information kiosks specifically for transportation. There you can always ask how to get into town. If the metro is closed you can use the Noctilien bus system. But if you want to make your life easy (yet expensive) take a taxi. Remember if you're calling a taxi from a phone they begin to charge you the moment the taxi leaves from the point of the call, so if they are on the other side of the city you'll be paying from that point. So it's best to find a taxi stand.

Oh my they close so early during the week? Confused

Are the taxi stands regulated? I have experienced some rip off when using a taxi in London getting out of Heathrow. The idiot took me on a spin and when I realized what was happening I demanded for him to stop and let me out. I had to pay of course for the run around so now I am scared as heck to use a taxi from CDG to my destination.

when we took a taxi from CDG, we had no problem with the taxi, though the bill WAS 40 euros by the time we got there. CDG is far away from central paris.

Not sure how to get there otherwise, since my mother paid the taxi fare back, as well.

Its nice to have mothers once in a while.

The only real scam I've heard of frequented by CDG taxis is trying to get you to pay the way back to the airport as well.
Generally they're pretty on the up and up from CDG. The least I ever paid to CDG was 25 euros and that was when I lived on the 19th arr so I was on teh close side. But the most I've ever paid, from directly center (chatelet) was about 40 euros.
I wouldn't worry too much about them fromt eh airport, it's calling them at night that's a true mess.

(PS 1am was a dream compared to my 9pm shock in Rome...who closes metros at 9 pm?!)
