I am thinking about studying in Brno in the spring and I was just wondering what kind of place it is. I am a cheap american who speaks no czech. also if anyone knows how cheap it would be to get an apartment

I was looking at teaching there and one school said it would cost from 5000-7000 Crowns per month for a furnished one one bedroom. In many places, foreigners pay more, so I'm assuming this quote depended on the school or a local arranging the flat.

Also, I posted asking about Brno and got some good replies here.

I agree with Katel, the price for an appartment would be around 7 000 Kc which is roughly 300 USD per month. You might be asked to pay 3 month rent up front as it is quite common practice here. Living there is quite cheap though. The city itself is very beautiful, easy to get round. On the top of that I think it has surperb location an hour or two to visit Slovakia, Austria or Poland and 3 hours ride by a car or train to Prague.
