Four days should not be too rushed as from memory it is 130 kmh limit in Austria on autobahn but unlimited in Germany and pull into first servo after the border and purchase some strap on rocket boosters - they work out pretty economical because the car engine uses less fuel, but do remember what side of the road you have to be on.

IT'S THE LEFT HAND TURN THAT CAN CATCH YOU OUT DISASTROUSLY SO IF THERE'S TRAFFIC COMING AND NEAR IS ALWAYS IN EUROPE.

As to your route, it'll take you some kilometeres longer, but a Salzburg stopover will split the drive to Munich.
From Munich, head to Zurich which again will be about halfway between Munich and Geneva.
Again, a few detours to take you to places like the Rhein falls and getting some local tourist info all the route will have you finding heaps of great places to stop for meals and a cuppa or whatever.
Just remember to forget the afterburners off the autobahn and on entering Switzerland where you'll be back to Aussie type limits.

That stretch of Europe you're going through has some great scenery and Salzburg, Munich and Zurich are all well worth spending time in by them selves.
Salzburg btw is on the main autobahn route to Munich I found when checking an old road map I still have.
It'll depend on what you want to see - city old quarter beerhalls, museums, cathedrals, just older architecture that we never see in Oz can by itself be a wonder, but after Vienna I'd just head straight for Salzburg as that'll be well worth spending the rest of the day in, and do get an early start as it is more than halfway to Munich for another correction .
Not too sure how many kilometres down from the Boden See the rhein falls are, but other than for seeing a mini Niagra there are heaps of other places - so as I said use local tourist info and without that one place that I remember as a standout for beautiful gardens is Mainau, sort of like a mini island on west side of the Uberlingen See, northwest arm of Boden See and to get there instead of most direct route to Zurich through Bregen, it is possible to take a ferry from Meersburg to Untersee which is near Mainau.
For Switzerland have a look at a couple of threads - six days around Zurich and three weeks in Switzerland, and take your pick, but you ain't got a lot of time - four months would have been cool!
Your autobahn numbers to be followed are:
Out of Vienna A1 all way to Salzburg, the old Q and areas of interest across river on right and from recall of kicking myself for not getting digs there, there's hostels and B&Bs up on that high bit where you'll be able to see the old castle/fort.
On leaving Salzburg you'll find a big turn off to E52/A8 that takes you all the way into Munich, there being outer and inner ring roads.
Leaving Munich it's A96/E54 that you stick on all way to Bregenz if taking more direct route and then N1 to Zurich and pretty sure it'll be that number to Geneva.
For the ferry, take the E54 which will leave the A96 at Lindau and take you around the northern side of the Boden See (nice country drive) thru Friedrichshafen and some smaller villages to Meersburg.
I think eventually it is easy to fall more in love with the smaller villages, many if not most having their own age and quaintness including lovely pubs, so if it is that you are after, I'd still go to Salzburg but bypass Zurich and find a nice country inn to stay in.
But from Mainau and back to Konstanz, getting on to the N1 and sticking on it will be the quickest way to get thru Zurich.
