Hello, everybody!
I'm from Bulgaria.
Just got my brand new "Kia Ceed" and I'm thinking of trying it out on a long journey.
I was thinking a trip to Southern Italy.
Here is my plan so far.
Day 1: starting from Sofia and staying for the night in Bled, Slovenia.
Day 2: Departing from Bled and arriving in Pescara staying there for the night.
Days 3 and 4: Puglia. Staying in Trani and going around.
Days 5, 6, 7 and 8: Staying near Napoli. One Day for Capri, one day for Ercolano and Napoli and one day for Amalfi Coast.
Days 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15: Sicily. Staying near Catania. Planing to visit Cefalu, Taormina, Etna & Alacantara Gorgess, Ragusa & Noto, Eolan Islands and Agrigento - not in that perticular oreder.
Days 16 and 17: My Journey back to Sofia.
I'm leaving with my wife on the 1st of May and was wondering if there is something I should include or exclude from my trip. I would appreciate any help! Thanks in advance, folks!
Marin

Hi -

We just got back from a trip to Italy yesterday. Apulia is beautiful. Instead of staying in Trani you might want to stay in Alberobello in a Trulli for a few days. From there you can take a trip to Lecce, Gallopoli, Ostuni and the caves. Its a beautiful region and very romantic if you stay in a Trulli right in Alberobello. We went to Ercolano to see the town that was uncovered. It was okay -- not what I expected. We were told by the Italians to stay far from Napoli because of the rise in criminal activity. Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Ischa are beautiful and fun towns.

Have fun planning!

Hi, Alr.
That's very helpful. Maybe we should consider more days in Puglia. But what stroke me most is the warning about Napoli? Are things really that bad. I knew about crime activity there, but never suggested that it would be that dangerous for tourists. If it's so we shall skip it, although it would be shame... Frown
