Can anyone tell the best bars, pubs or clubs to go to Amsterdam. I will be there for 6 days in May.

Anything in particular you're looking for, in terms of type of establishment, style of music, type of crowd, etc? There's so many good places to go, it's hard to even narrow it down...

stay at the downtown flying pig hostel, party every night if you want.

its still a bit of a misconception that amsterdam is a party town, its more of a stoner town. By party I mean everything closes around 4-5 am so it depends on your definition...

I like bitterzoet and some of the squat parties, although one of the big ones (dupe - sp??) just got shut down again. there is a ferry that has been converted into a multi room grimy club that goes every second week or so - as someone with a cool haircut for details when you are there...

pick up a copy of 'amsterdam weekly' which is in english or even grab the local street press and follow your nose...

Travel Guy, where are you in Okemos, MI??? I am in Lansing, MI, near Frandor and have been to Amsterdam. who ever said, where to party in Amsterdam is a rhetorical question is right. There is so much to do in Amsterdam that you will have to be mores specific.....anyway its good to hear a fellow Michigander is heading to A-dam....have fun in A-dam for all of us stuck here!!!

No no, mid-michigan is Spartan country.

However, I did grow up with 2 Wolverine parents, and my brother now lives in Columbus...

But to get back on topic of shit to do in A'dam, the Melkweg usually has good concerts going on. I ended up in the bar/club Korsakoff one night, and it wasn't a bad spot. Avoid the Bulldog coffeeshops, but across the way from one of them (street names are eluding me at the moment...) was a pretty good bar, which I can't remember the name of... it was by a lot of other bars.. and neon lights... and maybe a comedy club... good luck with finding that one. Sorry. Roll Eyes The Greenhouse is one of my favorite coffeeshops... But really, like brazenfaith said, it starts to get rediculous to start naming things, because it'll just end up sounding like you're rattling off every listing in a phonebook there's so many good spots. Enjoy it!

I found a place called Stix, small place with great Jazz, cool people and a great staff of one employee. Fantastic.
