Restaurants

Vegetarian Restaurant: located on Obchodna, the main shopping street, this place has organic food cooked by Hare Krishnas in a somewhat Indian style. They apparently only try to convert you on Sundays.

Prasna Basta: Meaning something like Watch Tower in Slovak (and Empty Garden in Bosnian, but that's beside the point), this place has Slovak food (and "other": chicken, salad, etc.) for reasonable prices. In the warm months there's a garden or terrace area. Watch out, it's often crowded.

Slovak Pub: also on Obchodna, and often crowded with locals - a long list of Slovak and "other" dishes for good prices in an okay atmosphere.

Other

Next Apache: Used bookstore and also a cafe.

Transport

If you are flying into or out of Vienna, consider taking the airport bus from the Vienna Airport to the main bus station in Bratislava, which is a ten minute walk from the center. I'm living in Bratislava, so luckily my own return tickes originate there, which is cheaper, but check out these prices: (I'm quoting Slovak prices in Euros for comparison purposes; they still use the Slovak Crown)

Bratislava Bus Station - Vienna Airport bus (return): 15€
Vienna Airport - Sudbahnhof (train station) bus (one way): 6€
Sudbahnhof - Bratislava train station (one way): 12€
Bratislava train station - Sudbahnhof (return): 8.20€

Free WiFi

Coffee&Co on Obchodna
From the main square, turn left off a side road and find a little place in the "pasaz" (passage/tunnel between buildings).
There also seems to be free wifi but no plugs in the area right around the Primacial Palace.
