Here's a new game that probably has a limited lifespan.
The first post will be of a place whose name is one letter long; the second is two letters long, etc.

Post the name, say where the place is, and post a photo to go with it.

Here we go:



One letter: Å, a fishing village in Norway

Two letter: Ai,Ohio-On 80/90 west of Detroit

I'll post another to clarify the rules -- the place names don't need to build on each other (they can, though), just be a letter longer.



Three letters: Kaş, Turkey

This was my favorite seaside destination when I lived in Turkey -- crystal clear water, great food thanks to the influence/demands of the French tourists there, and the fact that it's not Antalya.

Lima, one of my favourite South Am cities. Great colonial architecture, interesting food (ceviche), drinks (pisco sour), long and varied coast line.

Five letters: Saijo, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.





Home of Hiroshima University, where I used to work, and more importantly, the annual Saijo Sake Festival.

6 letters: Flores, Guatemala

Palmyra, Syria (7 letters)

Easy one for me-Yosemite 8 letters

9 letters: Dubrovnik, Croatia



I was there in 1996 and would love to go back to see what it looks like with roofs on the buildings.

Heart of the Cayo area and Eva's is the information hub.

11 letters: Hells Canyon (National Recreation Area) - Oregon, USA

It's almost as impressive as the Grand Canyon, but with no crowds because you've never heard of it.

12 letters: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia



It's not exactly my favorite city in the world, but it is the jumping off point to Mount Kinabalu, one of the most amazing mountains I've ever climbed.

13 Susquetonscut brook, Bozrah, Connecticut
This is a beautiful fishing stream about 10 miles from a place I use to live.

14 letters: Afyonkarahisar, Turkey:



The name literally translates as opium balck fortress, which is reason enough to pay it a visit.

15 letters: Brighton and Hove, England



Used to be two separate towns, but are now combined as the city of Brighton & Hove. Where Londoners go when they want to be by the seaside. The West pier sadly burnt down a few years ago.

16 Letters: Hastings-on-Hudson, New York

Limestone pillars in the in Port Campbell National Park, on the Great Ocean Road...Don't tell anyone but there are only 9 left.
