Ding ding ding! Well-done, benrules!

The two tricky ones in the list are Moscow, which appeared in the film but the scenes were shot in Berlin, and Astoria, which didn't appear in the film as a location, but was where the studio was.

I should have guessed something like that. I knew that about moscow, and I just could place astoria, more thinking next time (or should that be less thinking?)

Here's a new one to mull over:

HINT: They claim...

China's the only country that claims to be secular.

Indonesia and Malaysia is Islamic
Philippines is Christian
Vietnam promotes religious freedom and recognises 6 religions.

But China claims to be secular but tolerates the practice of certain faiths but not the teaching of those faiths.

That may be true, but I'm thinking about a more earthly claim.

China claims to have the oldest evidence of culture of the countries.

Not that kind of earthly -- I'm talking about land.

Indonesia is the only one that has land below the equator? (not much of a claim though . .)

No, the claim alluded to above is more politcal in nature.

That might be the case, but the claim I'm referring to is a modern day one.

The answer is Indonesia, though, so that warrants a Ding.

How about Maine as it's the only one that was originally part of another state (Mass)?
