Will be doing 3 weeks in SEA with this--what do you think? I'm a 5'0 18 yr old female... but this is given to me for free...so free and this vs. $100 and something smaller. Hmmm... honest opinions please!

Osprey in currently one of the few good backpack brands out there. If it fits you, take it!

It's a quality pack, but 26 liters is pretty darn small.

Methinks you should keep the pack, put all your stuff in it, and purchase a cheap duffel bag at some point along you trip (ie: when you land in Bangkok.)

That way you'll have room for souvenirs, etc.

Good luck!

I agree with Skimax. Have you tried putting all your stuff in it? If it fits that's fantastic! Ospreys really are nice bags so if you've got a free one then right on!

As long as you are really good at packing light and are in a warm climate you can make do with a 26 L pack. I've done a couple 2-week trips with my beloved 33 L Osprey in cool climates that necessitated hauling pants and extra shirts around.

Wouldn't mind if someone gave me another osprey, either...

If you are eyeballing it, please be careful, many of the ospreys have a mesh internal back frame that takes up much of the internal space in the pack. You may want to get your hands on that actually backpack before ordering it online to make sure your stuff fits. As others have stated, 26 liters is on the small side.

If you already have it, remember you can use the straps on the outside in conjunction with stuff sacks to carry more. When I go camping (non-travel). I carry around spare rope to tie stuff to the outside of my pack.
