What is the advanatges of getting a hybrid pack? Besides them opening by the top and the front.
To me they seem like they would be a better 'fit' with weight postioned closer to the body as they seem not as wide and deep as ordinary travel packs. The centre of gravity seems better postioned.. Is this right? any other advantages? |

depends what you want the pack for - if its mostly for trekking - the hybrid is good for the alternative openings to a normal top loader.
If you are travelling mostly on buses/trains/planes - you wont notice much difference in terms of height, weight distribution etc because at best you may only have the pack on your back for an hour or two. A lot of the modern hybrids basically have the same harness system as their trekking pack counterparts - just with a few extra accessories such as a stowable zipper panel to cover the harness whilst travelling, and better access to the pack with panel access. Which hybrid are you thinking of getting? cheers Jeelan "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW--What a Ride!" |
