I'm looking for a nice pair of cargo pants for my 9 month trip around the world, and so far everything has either been ridiculously expensive and close to what I'm looking for, or cheap and lacking in everything I need. I'm looking for something synthetic that can dry quickly, zip off, has many pockets, and is pretty roomy/baggy. Any ideas where I should shop?

I had LL Bean cargo pants on an RTW trip, though the non-zip off variety. They held up really well, and the nylon looked similar enough to cotton that they worked well as street wear, too.

What about this pair? I'm not sure they qualify as cargo, though, since they don't have any lower leg pockets.

I've found Sahalie clothes to be a good value for the price (their stuff is a lot less than Patagonia or North Face). Here's a pair of zip-offs, on sale, that convert to both capris and shorts.

Oops, sorry, I think I had the wrong gender! From a previous post, zhang, I thought you were female.

And static has some great links, but just for the sake of completeness:
Sahalie men's zip-off cargoes.

LL Bean men's zip-offs.

Thanks for the links. I like the Adventure Pants from Sportsman's Guide a lot, and Sahalie's aren't too bad either. While searching some more for cargo pants, I actually came across these, from an unlikely source:

Army Navy Deal

Deep pockets that are buttoned down, and quick drying fabric. They're used however, not zippered, and probably not as practical as the adventure pants. Still something to consider though. Don't worry about the mistake Mini! I'm a 22 y/o male, but I know the nickname can be taken either way.

REI has a good selection of convertible cargos. Quite a few are on sale now.
