Then you prefer the small version of one of these SealLine Protective Cases

Nice! Thanks for the link.
Browsing through that site, I found these which seem to forgo the ziploc closure for something that is more waterproof.
http://seallinegear.com/cases.asp?Action=ElectronicCase

But.... the big advantage of the hard case is that a (theoretical) case of this kind would protect my passport from folds. (This is from experience and a real need - I was almost detained in Hong Kong once because my passport was too creased.)

So, if someone knows of a hard case that is sized exactly for a passport, that would be great! Waterproof would be icing on the cake.

"Great for freshening up en route or after a day of sightseeing, backpacking or hiking.
Heavy duty wipes provide antibacterial, rinse-free bathing."

not sure if this will help or not, but I've been planning a lot of international travel and my phone bill is out of control.

http://myglobaltalk.com/gearlive.aspx

it's VOIP on your Smartphone, it's in beta and gave me $50 of call time for trying it out. saved me a bunch when making reservations and calling to setup meetings and things.

hope it helps.

Oh if only this were soundproof and didn't result in a hassling by the airport security.

It does make me wonder though...how long do you think one could stay inside an airport before they figure out you missed your flight and are just chilling there?

There's people over at Sleeping in Airports who've camped out for 3-4 days after they ran out of money before their flight home.

I recently wore them ashore in Nantucket. Realized as I walked along that people were staring at my feet.
