Does anyone have any recommendations on comfortable, supportive and practical shoes for backpacking in different conditions in hot areas that you wear during the day and night. I really don't like those sandal with the straps like so: http://mediaext.drjays.com/media/228/886/files/2288861.jpg

I found these these Rockport shoes (Rosella) that are closed toed but are mesh so they are breathable and machine washable so it's ok if they get wet. They're very lightweight and I could wear them with skirts, pants, shorts, capris and even get away with wearing them in the evening to a club or something. Here's a pic, if I get them, it will be in black:

Just looking to get some input before I buy them.

Merrell makes mesh sneaker/hiker shoes.

I like their insole, and I've been wearing mine practically exclusively in hot and dry weather for two years without complaint.
