So, I feel rather close to my backpack, sure I may occasionally drag it arcoss the floor of a dirty airport, but we've been through a lot together. When I first got it I tied a pink and white polk-a-dot ribbon on the handle to distingush it form other people's packs. This reminded my of Minnie Mouse. So I dubbed my pack Minnie.

Any one else name theirs?

Hello Rachel. Good to hear I am not the only one. I call my pack "Bugs" Hell, he's been around me a lot longer than some of my friends. Seems only right he should have a name.

Piecar,

Well looks like we're the only two crazies who named our packs. I'm glad that there is at least one other.

Rachel

Yeah. It sure looks like it. Sort of shocked about it though.

I'll most definitely name mine, just as soon as I buy one. This is a tough decision!

Right On Justin. Let me suggest something flowery or perhaps something about bunnies....

....oh, I mean something cool.

Actually, thinking about it. I actually named my pack after a bunny, even though I was joking. Joke's on me.

Really. Overall, surprising. This is a friend. Your guy who carrys all that you want. OFten you are separated and you do nothing but think about whether he is safe. The pack dictates how you organize stuff. He is the thing you think about in the airport. He is the friend you watch for on the top of the Chicken Bus. I am surprised more of you haven't grown an attachment.

Is it really true that you folks are aa caught in a buying cycle? This one has a camel pack, this one has a detachable day pack, this one has space for your cell?

I believe that your pack is part of your history. It silently attests to your travel. YOu can look at it in your closet and know that you owe it one more country or at least one more unknown road

To me, my pack is the symbol of my journies. This leads back to a talisman thread I started a while ago.

Ah screw it. Cannot quite get my point across right now. Hosed.(It's a Canadian Thing)

I called my pack 'Your stuff'

So when I'm travelling I say things like:
'Man I'm tired of carrying 'Your stuff'.'
'I'm going to put 'Your stuff' next to my bed.'
'I've got to go through 'Your stuff' and clean it out sometime.'
'Have you seen 'Your stuff'?'
'I've lost 'Your stuff'!'

Borderland- that is hilarious!

I'm getting ready to pass along my old Kelty "Green" to a new deserving traveller. Poor Green has been replaced by "Mac" not to imaginative, but they are mine- 'sniffle sniffle'

Oh yeah. My pack is named "Joad". After a spell on the road, it definitely takes on grapes of wrath characteristics. Of course, my wife says the same about me! Ergle. But those chicken busses are do take a toll.

I've called my pack Captain Morgan for almost ten years now. It started out as a military surplus alice pack with the name 'Morgan' on the top flap, and a curiously patched hole on the inside.. as though something bullet sized went through Mr. Morgan and into the pack, but not through to the other side. Very curious indeed. Anywho, my buddy Marc added the word 'Captain' in red sharpie marker above 'Morgan' and a legend was born. The cap'n and i go everywhere together! HeHe

yes I do. I consider my backpack is my boyfriend. His full name is "Armando Lamochila" (a sort of pun that means something like: "packing my backpack")
I also call him "Armandito" Smile

yes, I'm in love with my backpack
