Okay, this may be so simple that it's a silly question, but how do you patch a burn hole in a down vest? The hole is in the interior polyester lining and the little feathers are starting to float out. It's on the inside, so the patch doesn't have to be beautiful, but how do you do it? Can I buy a patch to iron on? Stitch it up?

The easiest way would be with a iron-on patch. If it were mine, I would probably patch it with Seam Grip. To sew on it (without sewing through) you have to hand stitch it, which is a pain.

This may show that I spend a little too much time looking for ways to repair stuff.......

Anyway,

I've not had a lot of luck with iron on stuff sticking long term, so I'll iron on then sew around the edges of the patch. To make it a little easier go to a sewing or quilting place and get some of the curved quilting needles. They're needles but instead of being straight, they look like "C". It makes it a little easier.
