Can anyone recommend where the best place to be for New Years Eve in Belize would be ?

Anyone recommend any great hostels in Belize?

Any must see adventures ?

Also, do you pay in US Dollars or Belize money ?

Caye Caulker should be a blast on New year's eve. There are dozens of great places to stay on this little island and you can scout them all out in about an hour.
Belize money is tied to the usd at two for one. Pay everything in usd. They will give change in bz dollars, which you must get rid of before you leave the country. Luckily they also accept their own currency.

Near Belmopan, you will find Ian Anderson's Cave Branch Lodge. Their one day or overnight caving trips are the best anywhere.

i agree. caye caulker is great....loads of people. i would also recommend placencia. they have big party and its all very "rasta". very chill if that is what you want.

I was on Caye Caulker for the turn over 2005-6. There's not much going on in terms of raging party - it was pretty chill, sitting on a dock drinking local rum at midnight. There are quite a few bars that stay open late, but you won't get any Rio-style fireworks anywhere in this country. Belize has its own currency, but there are lots of places where you can change spend US dollars.
