Glad to see that you have given up on the hopeless Thorn Tree.
You expertise will be appreciated on Boots-N-All. Welcome back GoodtimeBob. ----------------------------------------- I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.-Mark Twain |

Bob, I haven't seen you before, but from the quality of your last post, you are most certainly welcome here!!!!
I looked at Thorn tree a few times, but I stayed here. Glad you're here too. |

Hi Juan. Sybil still up north? I'm keeping an eye on the thorn tree. I have lots of handles still and the proxy server keeps me safe. If they ever fire geekgal and her bundle of twigs posse on YC the place might comeback. Not many folks answering questions over there. Pedro the pedofile still posts from his college in Mass. The chick into buying trophy babies still giving out wrong info... but then I notice she wanders over here. The scandal about faked LP guide books continues to spread. They continue to ban anyone asking about the books or the previously banned folks. People who maintain Oakland offices on dead end streets should learn to behave themselves. At least here there doesn't seem to be the stupid questions about Guat. safety or "how do I get to Antigua from the airport?" every two days. All the best reasons for the second amendment.

GTB, Great to see you are alive and well. Most of the ex TT regulars are now writing or lurking here. Keep the good times rolling.

My only beef with GoodTime Bob is that he is always putting us El Salvadoreans down and calling us names or that we only have vested interests... , just for trying to drum support for our country.
There ARE people that like El Salvador. So, when reading GoodTime's usual recommendation that it is "wise" to skip El Salvador, be at least a bit skeptical, or don't be so closely minded to throw out the possibility of visiting! Have a good time, and welcome if you decide to come! |

Your beef with me is that I repeatedly refused to endorse that cheap hotel. I also tagged the spam posts which were against board policy. Also.. which you didn't know.. I nailed that guy who was running the illegal and poorly maintained shuttle service and had him run out of Antigua. As to El Salvador, for many people it isn't a wise choice of those with limited time. Maybe if you people spent some time cleaning up the gang situation it would be a better place to visit. But you have known me for a long time. You know I make travel recommendations to hundreds and hundreds of people. I'm not about to tell some newbie to go traipsing around a place where he can literally get his throat cut. Our time working in El Salvador back in the 80s was to help you people get your act together. If we hadn't you'd be flying the FMLN flag today. BTW.. your posts on TT consisted of primarily harping in no matter where someone wanted to go and telling them to go to El Salvador instead. I could rightfully predict when the post would show. While 90% of the regulars have disappeared, we still lurk on the TT. I can hack us in anywhere. Plus there are more than meets the eye here. They'll concur. So be good. You still have lots of patriots in your country. Clean the place up.

Surely, if someone is short on time and wants to see Central America, I wouldn't insist that they come to El Salvador.
I don't recall telling anyone to come to El Salvador INSTEAD of another place - maybe suggest it if they are going to surf. Central America is full of beautiful places, and I myself would like to visit them all! What I do tell is that people MIGHT consider El Salvador as a destination and not discard it out of hand. Some people have like El Salvador when they visit, from what I gather from other posts. The country has changed a lot from the 80's. The situation nowadays is that you might get in danger in other countries too, if you are in the wrong place. Gangs are, sadly, a regional problem now. Keep the good work! |
