Ok. So I've heard that if I post my (VERY tentative) itinerary, all you experts will give me feedback on it. So here it is. I have almost 9 weeks to get from Guatemala to Panama. I know that is short, and that I will never be able to see everything. I'm ok with that-and I can always go back!.

-I'm flying into Guatemala City, but planning to stay there just one night, and go to Antigua, Lago de Atitlan (Pana), Xela and areas nearby. 16 days.

-El Salvador (La libertad?) 3 days/nights

-Honduras (Copan, San Pedro Sula, Tela, anything else?) 14 days.

-Nicaragua (do I have to go via Tegucigalpa?) Leon, what else?! 7 days

-Costa Rica. This I haven't thought about too much. But I plan on avoiding San Jose. Surfing possibly. Somewhere. 10/11 days.

-Panama. Also no idea really. Although the plan is to be in Bocas de Toro on Aug. 9th, so I have 8 days to make it there. Suggestions?

Ok so that's it. Please let me know if you see any egregious errors, or tell me if I'm out of my mind to stay so long/not long enough in certain places. All recommendations welcome! My only must is Bocas by second week of August.

Thanks so much!

Is there really nobody who has advice for me? Maybe it's just a perfect itinerary already... Smile

I believe you have a very good tentative schedule, and you are correct in thinking that none of us have replied because it is almost impossible to suggest changes without knowing a lot more about your likes and dislikes. You will be making a lot of changes when you are down here. There will be places you simply don't want to leave, and others you wish you hadn't wasted your time on.

You have an excellent outline. Fill it out when you see what you really like. You will need to be flexible down here. Part of the charm of this area is that things seldom go exactly as planned.

Send me a private message, and you can call me. I'll explain things, since I'm too lazy to type.
