Im heading out to the Corn Islands the friday after Easter this year....everything I've read says you only need reservations (for accomodations) during Easter.... but now i'm getting worried that the friday after may still be considered Easter... don't know if i should make a reservation, but wasn't planning on it. Anyone have any advice or know if its necessary... Thanks!

there are plenty of places to stay on big corn island. you could prob just grab a taxi and have them drive you the loop around and you can stop off at each hotel! lol. i'm actually kind of serious. the loop only takes 20min. the place i stayed at.. i can't remember the name of it (i think it has sunrise or sunset in the name), but if you go to casa canada (super resorty, is pricey but has everything including free internet if you stay there), walk across the street to this pink looking hotel. it's a pretty big hotel, so they have lots of room.

on little corn, reservations are hard to make in advance. there are only two spots on the island where internet access is available (casa iguana for freaking $12/hr, and at the much cheaper hotel delfines but is also more sporadic) so i don't think a lot of people on the island regularly pre-arrange stuff. hotel delfines would be a good place to try if you just want to hurry up and get settled as soon as you hop off the boat. it's a modern hotel. but if you want something more quiet and 'closer to nature', i would really, really, really, really recommend derek's place: http://www.dereksplacelittlecorn.com/index.php?lang=en derek can pick you up from the pier if you contact them ahead of time (i'd do it now if you want to stay there), otherwise you'd have to walk the 30min through the jungle-ish interior of the island with your luggage to get there. also, reservations there are important because there are only a couple of cabanas.

have fun!! i loved the corn islands. Big Grin
