Can anyone recommend a hotel/b&b/hostel in San Jose, Costa Rica? We are arriving in the early AM after a red eye flight and are looking for a place that will let us check in early, is relatively quiet, and perhaps has the added luxury of air conditioning. Also, luggage storage would be a plus as we are taking a two-day trip up to Arenal.

Any suggestions?

Hi - For backpackers on a budget, the Costa Rica Backpackers, seems to get good review. I have heard positive things about Hotel Classic as well.

The CR backpackers is a good place! Nice little pool, kitchen, TV room, internet, friendly staff, convient location, etc...
But early AM will likly be considered a late check in, at least in my red eye flight experience at hostels, if your sleeping then they're charging, it might me a differnt story if you get there at like 6-7am but 1-4am and your paying for the night.
