Qantas Vacations is having a great deal to go out and visit Australia. I have never been, so maybe this is the deal that I finally get off my lazy butt and get to the land down under. I'm thinking that 15 days is enough time, right? Its roundtrip air to Sydney with a tour. They give you free wine or a Wildlife Tour (don't really know why kind of wine it is?) The whole kit-n-kaboodle is for $4865.

I never heard of Qantas Vacations, but it seems that they are pretty big. Anyone ever heard of them before?

What is the itinerary for this tour? Depending on where you go it could represent value, but $4850 would buy a lot of independent travel in Australia, even with your devalued dollar.
Qantas are most reputable.
Virgin will be flying to the US soon and will introduce competition and somewhat cheaper airfares.

Qantas is Australia's national airline.

...but looking at this website - despite using Qantas's logo- I can't see any real links to Qantas Airlines...

If I am missing something and it is all legit, from what I hear Qantas have really stepped up in the last few years and are actually quite a nice way to fly these days.

Qantas Vacations is Qantas' US packaged holiday company. As someone riding the Qantas bus a lot lately, I can say they've improve. And if you're used to US airlines, it's a whole different (i.e., better) world.

This tour packs a lot into 15 days and you won't get more than the slightst taste of these places. Plus you could do it for less by booking independently. just my 2cents

Seems pricey to me...but if the itinerary and accommodation looks to fit your style, then go for it.

It looks to me like it is a tour of Sydney...which definitely is charming, but isn't representative of the whole of Australia....it's like going to L.A. to experience everything the U.S. has to offer.

The New Zealand portion of the tour looks great.

this looks like a much better deal to me one R/T international flight from the U.S. and three domestic Aus flights starting at $1099 and maxing out at $1999. you could see Sydney, Ayers Rock and something else..then use less expensive Virgin Air to go to Hobart or something, hire an auto in Sydney to see the Blue Mountains....so much to see and do in Aus that I don't think 15 days is enough..

Agreed! It seems quite pricey. If you feel more comfortable with an organized tour and you have the $$ to spend, go for it. But there are less expensive ways to see probably more. It will just require more time and research to piece together a more independent itinerary.
