So the very first leg of our RTW in October has us routing through Nadi on our way to Auckland. We have a 4-hour layover in the morning - anyone have any thoughts on whether or not this is enough time to actually get out of the airport and see anything?

It's not on the itinerary otherwise, so this is our only chance to see Fiji unless we rework the flights to get a longer layover.

Thanks!

4 hours in Nadi airport would drive me crazy - it's not big! Having said that though, 4 hours in Fiji is not much. It would offer you enough time to go to Nadi for a look around/shop, but make sure you leave enough time to get back as 'fiji time' exists (slow, no hurry). Worth a look.

Thanks Heidi! I think a Fijian sunrise from somewhere other than the airport would be great. We'll definitely plan on getting out, even if only for a quick peek around.

hmmmm.... Four hour layover you will definately want to get out of the airport. Even one hour is boring.

You could always take a taxi into town, have something to eat (good indian restaurants) walk around, see the temple (at the end of the main street), do some shopping... downtown Nadi isn't very big, you could hit the main street, some shops would pass the time.
