I'm planning a longish trip lasting about 3 months total. I'll be arriving in Morocco and working my way across north Africa, to India, and then through southeast Asia. I'd like to hit Nepal too, but I've heard its a terrible idea for a girl who's travelling alone. To make a long story short, I'm looking for anyone who might be interested in joining me in any of these places. My ability to secure a travel companion for certain locations will impact my itinerary.
Approximate dates:
Morocco - July 13th-31st
Egypt - Aug 1st-mid-Aug
India - mid-Aug-late Sept
SE Asia - October
Its a backpacking trip. Not too much structure, and definitely not too much luxury. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi! Unfortunatly I can' travel with you but I've been to South-East Asia, Egypt and India. Although we were two girls travelling together, none of these places have appeared to me as being dangerous for single women. To say that it would be a terrible idea for you to go on your own would be exaggerated. I know I would feel safe to go own my own. However, you would have to follow certain safety measures, starting with your clothes. In Egypt, my friend and I always wore pants and long-sleeved shirts (or 3/4 sleeves). Nothing tight. We didn't have to do that but we were happy about our decision; we did notice that women wearing shorts and tank tops seemed to be bothered more by the locals... Try not to go out late and if you do, take a cab. Don't let yourself be trapped in a closed place, alone with a man (e.g. a small store (My friend did find herself in a situation like that and a man did try to grab her boobs...))Try to shop in oppen-air markets. Be smart about your decisions. Don't impair your judgement by drinking. Be warned that many MANY men will flirt with you. You will be asked to get married. Don't be fooled; they don't care about you, they just want a fast ticket out of their country.
Except for the proposals, everything else can also apply to India. Know that I've seen many single women travelling in those countries (lots of Asians in Egypt!) and that you shouldn't have any problems pairing up with someone once there. Try to learn a few words in the local language, even before you travel (ethnic restaurants are a good place). I find that the locals tend to respect you more that way.

I just moved and so all of my things are still in boxes. But if you'd like, I could write to you again in a week or two(o.k. maybe 3...) and give you references of places I've been too where, for sure, you wouldn't have to worry about being on your own (I'm thinking of an amazing place in Luxor...) Let me know. GOOD LUCK!

You sound insecure like it's your first time there on your own.
Try reading "First Time Asia" in the Rough Guide collection.
You'll find LOADS of info that will help you.
Good luck!

Hey,

Gonna be in Morocco in August then Egypt and then possibly Israel and Turkey. However the only ticket I have is for Morroco. Would consider anything and if it seemed to be a good fit would rather not travel alone. And if it happens we end up in the same place at the same time then lets meet up. Let me know, email travisbrown69@hotmail.com.

Bye
