I am in the early stages of planning a trip of about 6 weeks (early Dec to mid-Jan) to SE Asia. Mostly interested on this trip in Northern Thailand, Laos, perhaps Cambodia.

Me: 57-year-old female, little Asia experience. I did spend 4 months in Nepal and Tibet in 2001. Intend to travel light and spend moderately (budget travel but not interested in pinching every penny).

Anyone interested?

Any chance of swinging through the southern part of South Vietnam? Tay Ninh - Cu Chi?

I have little useful Asian travel experience, but would like to visit southeast Asia.

I'm still deciding what I want to do. I'm thinking Bangkok to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Chiang Mai. I only have 8 weeks before I need to be back home. For that reason, actually thinking of joining a group tour for all or a portion. Don't really know.

What did you guys have in mind?
