Anyone konw if I can train Hong Kong to Viet Nam, then Saigon to Thailand?
I plan to bus from Hanoi to Saigon - I heard it very cheap and flexible. Thanks! |

You have to do a transfer at the China/Vietnam border and there had been some problems with some of the rail in China but check www.seat61.com for full details.
Yes, there's apparently a JOJO bus doing Hanoi to HCMC (Saigon), about $25 think I have seen mentioned but train and locals buses are pretty cheap too. HCMC to Thailand, you will not find a train until you get to Thailand at the Cambodian border but interesting boat/bus options as you'll find some details of in talesofasia This thread is also worth a read to visualise "the road trip to end all road trips", Poipet border crossing and an interesting alternative of ferry, Cheryn also giving account of a Mekong Delta tour she used as means of transport into Cambodia. |
