Hello Guys!

Can you help me with some tips on my itinerary please?

I am planning a two weeks trip to Thailand with either a group of friends or solo (my friends still cannot make up their minds), but regardless of whether I will go alone or with my friends, I will be the one who will be planning the whole trip and I really need to get an advice of people who have done Thailand, since it will be my first trip to over there. I do not want to arrange it with a travel agency, cause from what I read Thailand is easy to get around and it is simple for Russians to get a visa upon arrival.

So far the plan is to fly into Bangkok, spend couple days there and then go down to Phuket and Koh Samui:

1) How do you think it will be better to plan the route?

2) Which island should we go first after Bangkok – Koh Samui and then Phuket or vice versa?

3) If Phuket will be the first one to go to, should we buy tickets in advance or when in Bangkok?

4) If we go in a group we want to rent a bungalow at both islands, if I go alone I will be staying at a hotel. Is it possible to get good hotel when you are at BKK airport or better to book in advance? Any recommendations on accommodation?

Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!

Do you want to do it as cheap as possible? If not you can fly between Bangkok and the islands. I normally book hotels in advance as I can get the hotel I want and I can choose a hotel within my pricerange. Which island to go to first doesn't really matter in my opinion.
