I'm am 8 weeks away from travlling on a trip that I have been planning for the last year and I have managed to rupture 3 ligaments in my knee and it is now looking like I am going to have to cancel my trip!

Save more money, be able to do even more than you were this trip.

it's always a challenge to stay healthy before a big trip. hope you can heal up before heading out again. lay up, and tend to your ligaments. i had to lay up at one time for a week on account of dropping a boulder on my foot. take care before testing it again or it might hurt forever!

Try not to get depressed about it, it's not the end of the world there are far worse things, it could have happened while you were away. The thing about travelling is that you really need to be in good health, we have found that out on our 12 month round the world trip. It's not always easy to just drop in on a doctor when you are travelling. Concentrate on the future try and save more money, you never have enough and do additional research which always comes in handy, save everything to a memory stick and you can use it when you finally get off. This could be a production time for you, think positive.

Well how long will it take for your knee to heal? I see lots of people in wheel chairs lined up to get on the plane when I go to Asia from the U.S. If you fly with a game knee you will get on first and have someone help you. If you want to chance it.

I had to cancel a trip when some blood clots (from a very old injury) went to my lungs. I had been on a ladder that slipped and I fell 20 feet, that fall broke the blood clots loose from the old injury. I ended up in the emergency room and a week in a hospital. I pleaded my case with the airline (had a gold or platinum card at the time) and they switched me to a later flight and no penalty! I was lucky!

You might see how your knee feels and if you can stand the pain and the docs sign off - you might still be able to do the trip.
