Knows What a Schengen Visa Is

Hi -

We're heading to Bangkok in July and we'd like to head over to Cambodia for a bit. We'd like to check out Angkor Wat & the other Wats going on around there. Does anyone know the visa requirements?

Visa on arrival. Bring a crisp $20 and an extra photo of yourself.
Easiest if you fly in, sometimes the land border crossing dudes try to scam. Read all about it here.

That's pretty much what I thought it would be. Glad we don't have to send our passports off to DC. I like keeping mine near me, even when I'm at home.

Thanks!

Definitely fly in to Siem Reap, if you can. You used to be able to get really cheap tickets with Bangkok Airways, but it seems they've stopped that. Expect to pay about 4-5000 Thai baht (~150 USD) for a one-way ticket in July.

In addition to the photo for your visa, if you want to buy a multi-day pass for the Angkor area (which you should!), you'll need a passport photo for that as well.

Happy trails!

It is a long ride, but you get to see just how very, very different Thailand and Cambodia are.

I let the tour operator take care of the visa, and it was easy and cheap. Right, and get the multi-day pass and hire a guy with a scooter on the street to take you there each day - I got a guy for $20 for the 3 days.

I want to go back! Great place.

actually, its more than 20 dollars. The visa officials take a little off the top so bring 30 but you may pay as high as 35....

if you come from vietnam then it will be 20 dollar.
