Why not have a read of the top thread, put there as a sticky for value of comment.
Few months back it semed everybody and their dog was heading for SukII, but there are options and a week before for more popular places will do you no harm re booking. |

There are other hotels you can use than the "Suk 11" choice.
Not far from the Suk ll hostel (on Sukhumvit Soi 11, look for the Konika camera store, you can use the Business Inn Hotel for around 650 - 700 baht you get an AIRCONDITIONED hotel room, with HW, security box, etc. Not far from that hotel, same Soi 11 you have the President Inn for around the same price. Fan only rooms at the Sukhumvit Crown Hotel, between Sukhumvit Soi 6 and Soi 8, (across from the Nana Skytrain stop) are 470 baht. "Suk 11" is not the only choice around there. *********************** Travel the world now before you get too old to do it! |

Lost in Place |
Unfortunately it was surrounded by a strip of girly bars,
but I stayed at the Washington Suite hotel for 1 night. It was 150B taxi ride (with meter) from airport and 900B a night. I would never stay there long term, but for one night before moving on it was fine. AC, lock box, proper shower/bathtub, clean. - Greg |

SUK11 takes bookings up to 2 months prior.

I am sitting in the lobby right now at a perfectly good hotel called the SUKSAWAD. I'd definitely stay here again.
8/3 Samsen 6 Banglampou, Bangkok +66(2)281-7622 (If you're in Bangkok dial 0 before the 2) I have an aircon room for 430 Baht/night (about $11). They give fresh sheets, towels, soap, tp (this is not to be expected at cheap guesthouses everywhere!). And there is hot water and a TV that I've turned on all of once -- I think it gets CNN. There is internet in the lobby (I connected my laptop). The best part: There is a great vegetarian restaurant across the street, May Kaidee's. There is also a place called Sabah right across the street that has KILLER breakfasts (bacon, eggs, homemade bread etc) and a cinema upstairs where they show movies. It's a 10 minute walk to Rambutree/Khao San area. ************************** Leap, and the net will appear. ************************** |

Try Sukhumvit Soi 1. next to the bumrungrade hospital. the area is good , ie.. no girlie bars till ou get to NANA on soi 3. the sky train is close and the canals closer. for 180-250 a night well worth it. clean as and Had a great time. it's not to big but #1 location. and soi1david@hotmail.com was a wealth of info. and he gave me a pitcher of beer for free, he was changing out the keg. lol I'll be there again. the name of the place is... just google "Soi1" "bangkok". see yas |
