So I want to incorporate the following countries in a loop. I will be leaving from India.

Malaysia
Indonesia
Philippines
Vietnam

If I have to go through Bangkok I don't mind but no desire. Outbound gateway in India could be Chennai, Mumbai or even Calcutta.

So suggest what would be the most logical loop.

What are some of the things I have to watch for. I know Vietnam I need to get a visa in advance.

Cheers,

I'd fly to KL then travel overland through Indonesia, fly to the Philippines (Mandanao), travel overland to Manila and then fly to Vietnam.
I'd start with Malaysia, because flying to KL from India is probably gonna be cheaper than the other destinations (and a direct flight as well).

Look into Air Asia flight options as they are one of the cheapest in the region. They have hubs in KL & Bangkok.

Thanks. Will check em out. Have some time before I leave India. Now a traveler friend wants to go to Bangladesh and is wondering if I will come. Of course I will.

Turns out one of the renters that my parents rent our apartment out to is a "travel agent" with 3 offices in India and has offered some cheap tickets..heehee...i love how connected I get in India.

Interesting..its a pretty small town in Tamil Nadu. I bet it has something to do with the Tamil population in KL and something unique about this town. Humm must google to find out more.
