I'm a 33 year South African old guy looking to travel to China in early 2007 for the purpoose of Martial Arts training. I'm still investigating which school to attend and deciding what styles i'll be learning. Locally i train with a shaolin laymonk so i may choose to study something unavailable to me in SA (like wudang...) or continue with my current studies in China. Specifically then i'd be interested in Chen Tai Chi plus a mix of traditional and contemporary Shaolin WuShu.

If you thinking of going to China at the same time to do the same thing, drop me a line! I have collected a ton of resource i can offer and maybe we could discuss arriving and travelling together...

Also if anyone has been and has advice please get hold of me.

hi renato-- you may want to connect with sifu david leung in eugene, oregon--he is an absolute wealth of information and travels fairly frequently to china-- sounds like you have done your research though...in any case sifu leung's email is taichi_eugene@yahoo.com--you can google leung martial arts to get to their website and see what is going on in the studio there and what types of work they do. this could help you decide whether to contact or not-- he is a truly honorable and most excellent teacher. hope your trip works out well!!
