Has anyone done this? I'm thinking of doing it May '09 if I can work it into the itinerary. I was wondering if anyone else had done something similar and what experience was like.

I've had a couple friends who have done it. Am not really a runner myself, so I probably can't offer any real advise. Not sure about one of their experiences, but the other ran the full marathon. He mostly just said he was pretty miserable (it rained the whole time). He regualry competes in triathlons and the Tinman/Ironman (when he qualifies). Though I don't remember, it was probably his slowest marathon EVER.

Thanks for the imput. Yeah, i'm def. doing just the 1/2. I ran a full one w/ TNT a couple years ago for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and while it was the best thing personally i have ever done for myself, it was absolute hell. I still don't know how i finished. I think very few people in this world have the genetic make up to run long distances like that. Coming in at 5' I don't even come close. I want to do some more 1/2's though and thought this would be really cool and a great way to shape up on the trip. Thanks for the info, I hope it doesn't rain!
