G,day guys,
Just wanted to know your thoughts on treking in Chiang Mai. Going on previous posts, Chiang Mai is not all its cracked up to be, crowded & touristy. There have been alot on recomendations to check out Mae Sot for a more unique expreience. What are your thoughts? Go Aussie, |

Hello hello,
I did trekking in Chiang Mai. Obviously this is the main reason for most people going to chiang Mai, and every Guesthouse you stay at will offer you 'the most non-touristy and most remote Trekking Trips'. Just have to do some research. After asking around and asking fellow travellers and speaking with the owner of the Hostel (Annette) i booked mine through Eagle HouseEagle House Annette is also heavily involved in Volunteer programs throughout Thailand and can help you get in contact with different organizations if your interested. And back to the Trek, i did a 3 day trek, The trek was in a private park, so we didn't encounter any other tourists. The trek included Bamboo rafting, Elephant Riding, and obviously hours of hiking daily, the food was AMAZING! and the rice whisky was lethal.....but I really enjoyed the experience, if you do choose Chiang Mai as your base for trekking, i would recommend checking out Eagle House, great people. Hope that helps. Safte Travels |
