Hey all...

its a long shot but i wonder if anyone has had to use the services on an Interpreter in Cambodia before?

I'm travelling out to Phnom Penh in 3 weeks time to do a research project (i'll be there for 2months) for my dissertation about how Khmer women with physical disabilities negotiate their lives, and to establish how societal views or stereotypes (if they exist) affect/enhance/limit their lives.

i'm going with two other girls doing similar projects and we've arranged a link with one interpreter but i was wondering if anyone has any personal contacts out there that are bilingual and would like some paid interpretation work, or if anyone's hired an interpreter before they'd recommend.

The interpreter would have to be female to ensure comfort and ethical practice for the women i will be interviewing.

anyway...thankyou in advance for your help!

its been years since i was on this forum and its so nice to be back!

There is a forum on this board that may be helpful, but what I would probably do is ask my guesthouse to find one for me. Of course, when I stay at Dara Reang Sey, the two sisters who own it make sure that all of my needs are taken care of.

Also, make sure that you read the article that I wrote about a disabled woman in Cambodia.
