Hi, I seem to only be able to find airfare for $569 from Bangkok to Athens (where I ultimately want to end up) but I heard that BKK is one of the cheapest airports to fly out of in the world, so I am wondering if that price is inflated (having it come from an American airfare search engine [Orbitz]). Does anyone have advice on which airlines are cheapest? Should I wait until I am in Thailand for it to be cheaper? Will Thai officials hassle me for not having an onward ticket?

Also, I am trying to decide if I want to fly into Phuket or Bangkok from Darwin, Australia. If I fly into Phuket, how easy/expensive is it to travel up to Bangkok?

In my personal opinion i would wait until you are in Bangkok, there is an abundance of travel agencies, and they are all want you business, so there is a deal to be had. But with that being said, be careful who you deal with, ask around.

I've never had a problem entering on a oneway, but it all depends on the person your dealing with.
