Ok, its may. Can I find a cheap (very cheap) community development volunteer jb in S.E. Asia.

A few other questions.
Any good websites for what i speak of?
How much would i need for flights, programme cost (assuming there is a cost), living expenses for say 2 1/2 months? We're talking Thailand,Vietnam etc.

Any good experiences with some low budget volunteering network that anyone would like to share?
I'm open to all suggestions.
All the best,
Lepo

There's a few animal refuges or retirement homes for elephants as shown on links in this thread if you consider that community work.
Links by others should also be explored.

As Ted infers, it could mean just finding something when you get there.

Good on you for your intentions lepo and may the wind be at your back with some good Irish luck.

A friend of mine pointed me to www.idealist.org -- It's just what it sounds like, and discusses some of the world's most challenging problems and offers ways to find jobs and opportunities to alleviate those problems.

For you specificaly, Lepo, do a search here:

Also, remember that a lot of aid organizations are looking for recovery help after the '04 earthquake and tsunami (still!).

Check this:

Good luck, and thanks for having the dedication to actually go there and volunteer.
