Yup, this will be my second time visiting japan.
Last time I stayed for 2 months and visited Tokyo, Yokohama, Kyoto, Osaka, Beppu, Hiroshima, Okayama, and Tottori.

My favorite out of all of those was Tokyo, I still have to visit Kofu and another small town near by to meet some freinds over there.

The question I am asking is: are there any suggestions on where to go or check out in Japan that I missed this time around? MY establishment headquaters or home base will probably be in Tokyo, any place in the Kanto region or by Sendai would work awesomely for me^^

Wow, you had a busy couple of weeks.

I recommend Nikko. Some of Japan's most elaborate and beautiful temples set in a forested mountain area. Nice lake nearby, national park, and monkeys...filthy monkeys.

The islands off the coast of Sendai are beautiful also.

When you coming?

Dude,
there are tons of awsome places in Japan. I lived there for a year and had a blast the entire time. I lived in Shin-Koiwa when in Tokyo-a very quaint area. Fukuoka was sweet the time I spent there. If you guys are in town when a sumo Basho is taking place you gotta go. Good luck guys and happy eating. I will be heading that way early 2007. Kompai !

When I livedin Japan, I wanted to get to Hakone, but never managed to. I'm told it is worth a visit if you want to relax in the honsen (hot springs) and catch a view of Mt. Fuji (depending on the clarity of the day). It could either be a daytrip from Tokyo, or people tell me that there are some nice ryokan there that you could stay in. Hakone is known as a kind of resort getaway among Japanese people, but it is said to be beautiful regardless.

If you're willing to go a little beyond Kanto, Nagano (where the olympics were held), in the mountains, is also supposed to be an eyeful of beauty - and if you're in Japan during the summer, worth visiting just to escape to some mountain cool from the oppressive mugginess everywhere else.
