Hi Dan,
Can you let me know which part of Kerala are you now? If you come to North kerala you will get very reasonable price and the very less crowded places Biswas |

We did our houseboat trip from Kollom. 2 nights out on the boat. It was one night too many for us , you get a bit stir crazy , not much space on the boat and it was anchored off shore over-night so you couldn't get off and have a stroll.
The standing joke was "I'm going for walk ..see you later"......10 secs later .."Hi ..I'M BACK!!" |

For me... 1/2 day on the houseboat was enough. Not much to do, but sit and hang out. I guess that's fine, but the seats that they provide on most of the boats are simply not comfortable enough for long-term sitting.
And if you get cabin fever, forget it, you'll wanna shoot your eye out after about 4 hours. I guess I thought the house boats were overrated. Maybe if I hadn't read so much about them and hadn't had any expectations, things would have been different. |
