" I'd be interested to know what life philosophies/faiths travellers have." - borderland

I hope you dont mind that I made this a new topic..

1. Nothings stays the same. The only constant in life is that everything changes.
2. When you have a chance in life to see love, really see it and feel it, look towards it as an experience as you would your travels, that way its not outcomes based, you dont have expectations and subsequently cant be dissappointed but you can take from it and learn from it as you would a beautiful sunset somewhere on your travel path
3. Give your parents a chance, most times their issues in life is the result of opportunities missed. Be all you can and show them you turned out okay...
4. Stay away from people that invalidate you, that dont see you in the movie that is their life.
5. When people show you who they are believe them, this goes for positive and negative issues
6. Lastly I suppose, Live! Live fully, be completely used up when you die. Life has sadness and happiness, its all part of this thrilling journey. How can you know happiness if you cant compare it to sadness. Khalil Gibran said something to the effect of : I'd rather my life be a tear and a smile...

Journey: Find a path that captures your heart and follow it to tye end - Seen on a fellow travellers' T-shirt

Wow, I like and agree with a lot of what sweetchilli wrote. I guess I'll elaborate (or maybe repeat what she said!)

-I want to experience everything I possibly can. When something comes my way, I want to make the choice as follows: In the future, when I look back at this event/choice, will I regret not doing it?? OR will I regret doing it??...and make choices such that I don't regret opportunities missed. This is also similar to following my heart, and really listening to my intuition. The few times that I have pushed my intuition aside have resulted in regret and hurt, whereas the most memorable life experiences have been when I have followed my heart.

- Life is constant change. One has to accept this to be truly at peace. Otherwise one tends to become bitter/angry/disappointed/hurt/ judging/resentful. (this is a toughie)

- If you want something to change or happen in your life, you have to do it yourself; you can't wait or hope for something outside of yourself to make things better for you; this would only be a temporary fix anyway.

- Life has a myriad of emotions and ups and downs...it's never constant...both intense joy and intense depression...and everything in between. (another toughie)

- Live in the moment (an incredibly tough one for me, but I believe this is the way you have to do it), BUT keep moving. For me, I need something I'm working towards. For me, I need to constantly grow as a person, and learn new things. I need growth and change.

Faiths....well, I was raised Lutheran, but have spent an enormous amount of time studying/reading about religion and philosophy, so as far as religions go I'd say I'm now a "nothing", but as far as my mentality, one would probably say I am very spiritual -- whatever that means.

What the...!? I posted a reply but maybe my PC crashed in mid-send since it never appeared. Anyhow, Sweet Chilli did say a lot of what I believe, really well.

'I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.'
