I´m in Portugal, which is more wonderful than I even imagined, and I have a very lively imagination. I have been blogging like mad during my pilgrimage to Portugal and Spain (I´m only halfway through and haven´t gotten to Spain yet). This blog is more than anybody ever wanted to know about my particular trip, but there was a moment on July 26, my birthday, in Guimarães, that speaks particularly to this thread in the forum. Rather than try to repeat it, let me just suggest that anyone who is interested in moments of transcendent presence might like to hear about a moment I had in the Alberto Sampaio Museum. That´s what it´s all about.

Wow, you and my mom share the same birthday. Bet you had a better, more adventurous, much more unique day than she did, and I didnt even need to read your blog entry to be sure.

Hey, Bob, I was even born in western NC, in 1945. Does make me older or younger than your mom? Ain´t that weird? I´m still having a fabulous time, and I wish you and your mom some of the same.

I've been called a lot of things in my day, but never Bob. Of course Bob is better than a good number of things I have been called. I'm Howard. Nice to meet you.
My mom turned 69 this year and actually spent it at a resort in upstate NY. I am a transplanted yankee down here. My family was all born in the Philadelphia area. Keep on rockin granny.

I´m laughing, Howard. I mistook the "Bob Weir" attribution of your signature for, well, your signature. I am indeed rocking on. Today´s post includes the biggest realization I have yet made. I am blown away by it myself. Hah.

not sure where you are right now but if Por-2-gal is still your bag then I loved Aveiro & Leira, and Oporto is beautiful.

I'm back in the USA now. Never got to Aveiro, but I, too, loved Leiria and Oporto. Portugal is an amazing country. I'm cool with it continuing to be a secret except among a few BNA folks.
