Hello Everyone
I am thinking about leaving America and making a move towards India.
I am not so much looking to escape consumerism, however I am looking to focus my energy and strength on those things that are not perishable. Love maybe.

I keep making metaphors for myself and I see leaving America and all my material posessions behind as being a move away from one mentality and a move towards another completely different one.

I am sure this can be done in America, however I keep wondering what is "out there". As I get older I keep seeing a great difference between two types of mentalities one that puts all clout in monetary value and another that puts clout in truth and justice. It does too seem that these two mentalities exist everywhere. I am not so much looking to exist in a world where only one mentality exists but I am looking to realize one mentality and exist in a world where both are.

I am concerned that I would be making this move for the wrong reasons; running away, fear of what exists here in America, fear of who I really am, yet at the same time I would not want to NOT go because of fear either. Listen to my heart, methinks. And if my heart says goto India to India I shall go! Just putting this out maybe you all have some thoughts!!

As the winter season turns to spring some animals shed their coats and we also put away our winter wear and get out our shorts. Perhaps it's time to shed your old coverings and embrace the new possibilities. Good luck on your journey.

Misfit, what makes you think that it is going to be all different in India? I think we are sometimes overwhelmed by what we see around us that we feel helpless to cope with it all and that the only solution is to go somewhere else.

My experience is that all types of people and all facets of the human condition exist everywhere. The only reason this is not evident is because we view another place as an outsider but the moment we become an insider we perceive the that place totally differently, with all its own problems etc etc.

Perhaps the solution to the problem is to fix what we can in our own space. If we all make just a small difference, the collective difference will be huge.

So, maybe the solution is not to go to a different place to be fulfilled but to change the place you are at now in a positive way.
