Has anyone out there visited a specific place that provoked unusual feelings--either positive or negative?
A few years ago, I stayed at a youth hostel in South Lake Tahoe, California for two nights. Though I have good dream recall, I didn't recall any dreams for those two nights. However... ...everytime I woke during the night, I had the feeling that I'd gone through hell and back. That's the only way I know how to describe it. I'd never had an experience like that before; I haven't had an experience like that since. The hostel (which no longer exists) was a large, pleasant home in a nice location. Michael R. Patton N.W. I don't know if this can really be considered a strange vibe but it is definitley a different vibe than what I get when im stuck in the middle of society.
When i'm in a forest or someplace totally natural and untouched by modernised society I get filled with energy and good vibes that seem to renew my spirit and fill me with peace and happiness. It's almost like I catch a high when i'm with mothernature or become enlightened and free from thoughts and feelings I would regularily be bothered with when in modernised society. I have had several experiences with this while traveling.
once in a village in southern india I suddenly felt this wave of darkness and despair sweep over me. I was flooded with stress, and strange worries. I thought that I was going to be lost there, or abandoned. I could sense an anger in the people, and sort of a feeling as though everyone was fighting. it soon leaft me, but it was intense for a short time. one other time I was in varanasi, and I felt as though everyday had some meaning, I would meet random people who would end up showing me something amazing, which I was sure I was meant to see. These people seemed to be just placed at the right spots, I also fealt a strange vibe about the whole city, especially near the burning ghats. I fealt a sort of peace, and an almost ringing sensation in my ears. it was like I was staring into eternity. |

I too have had strange vibes when visiting different places. Perhaps the most negative came to me in Switzerland, particularly Zurich. Hmm, let's see. Beautiful mountains? Check. Historic architecture? Check. Delicious food? Check. Even the added bonus of a romantic partner to share it with? Check. The why did I feel an overwhelming sense of death and darkness there, similar to how I felt upon visiting Dachau??? I have no desire to visit Switzerland again, even though I have been there twice.

The first one happened when I was 11years old. My family and I went to Texas and Mexico for vacation. When we were in Mexico I had this horrible feeling, I didn't understand what it was. Very soon after we returned home my Mother had to be rushed to the hospital becuase she couldn't breath. It turned out she had ARDS. At that time only 1/3 of the people who had it survived, and after many months she did survive it. I don't know if she caught it in Mexico or not, but I havn't been back since.
I get vibes/feelings good and bad a couple of times a month. But now I can better read the vibes when I get them. |

Indo hippie: This is so strange, I do not get good vibes at Varanasi, none at all..... the vibes near the ghats are eerie and confusion and chaotic and not peaceful. It is like hoards of people are crying out in despair
